I have Nepalese Snider, its based on a MK2 as it has a locking tab. It can shoot well if I do my bit.

I know of the shop you were in; I've seen their many adverts on a certain gun sales website.
Tried getting more info on a couple of items they'd listed without photo's - gave up after never hearing back from them.

Categorise them now along with Pete Lawman & RFD's offering "bullet heads"...but offering original rifles that aren't = big no no!

The first ever HBSA lecture I attended at the IWM was on the Snider. Will have the written transcript & data in one of their old Journals - somewhere...

The MK I* improvement of converted Enfield rifles was effected not long after the introduction of the MK I conversion to accommodate the introduction of the MK II ball cartridge. The only difference being that the rear of the barrel was countersunk to take the square rim of the MK II cartridge rather than a rounded recess for the MK I ball that the MK I rifle conversion was made for. There were accidents with the MK I ball so MK II ball was developed to try and improve the cartridges functioning.

There were nine marks of ball cartridges, six marks of blank cartridges including two marks of converted "condemned and obsolete" cartridges and three marks of shot cartridges.

So a lot of work was done on developing the cartridges as you would expect from the newness and lack of an extensive body of knowledge and experience with cartridge ammunition, its performance and manufacture.

I would be happy to but the file is a bit too large

As soon as they started converting Enfields to sniders did that make the minnie bullet that was used in the muzzle loaders obsolete ??
