Seriously I'd say an est fire door fitted and secure windows with decent locks on both. And an alarm are all you can do.

No windows in the room. It's essentially a box room in which i asked for the window not to be fitted when building the house. Its about 10-12ft X 4ft and directly above the staircase. I removed the internal door fitted and fit a solid door (essentially 1inch thick plywood) with a yale lock.

So i'd just have to fit some kind of alarm; not a metal lined door, walls or anything?

Check with your FLO, mate.

I've got a few friends in different counties, and their police services want different things. One wants a metal door, the other doesn't care. One wants reinforced floors, one doesn't etc, etc

Ultimately it depends on how many guns you are going to keep in it.

Basically a door to the specifications in the hand book and the floor, ceiling and any non external walls secured, 1" steel mesh is the usual again the handbook gives the specifications screw centres etc. Then a monitored alarm fitted, basically RFD spec.

I have 17 guns on my liscence, 6 of which are pistols and revolvers.
Before I get married next year I plan to add another two rifles and 1 more pistol for IPSC and maybe If I can afford it abother shotgun.
That way I will have all of my toys before I get married and she cant say when did you get that I never seen that before! O Ive had that for ages muhahahaha.
My last addition my two FEO's came and were trying to intimidate me trying to make me think that that was the last gun that id be able to add but I have genuine reason for more so they cant stop me.
