NRA Affiliation for a non HO approved club is GBP60/PA
Range pass including insurance is GBP215/P
Non NRA members would be charged by the NRA at GBP7/each

So GBP275/PA or GBP27.50 each at cost for ten members, and GBP34.50 for non NRA members, a small overhead on top of this would be required to cover membership cards, paperwork, postage and any phone calls however NRA bookings can be made via the NRA website.

At these prices members would need to be FAC holders and gain their own SCC's as the club could not issue them.

If people join either BASC or the NRA then the FB club has no main reason to be.

Soo are you saying join the NRA or not, still confused .com. I am A NRA member at the moment and as you know a member off two other clubs which are both affiliated to the NRA . Are you saying i have to pay another NRA affiliation fee to be in FBUK or just 27-50 o be a member of fbuk

If you are a member of other NRA affiliated clubs you will already be paying twice for the affiliation and insurance, plus if you are a full member of the NRA you also have insurance included.

So we have two alternatives as I see it. F-B(UK) Rifle Club membership with NRA with Insurance for non NRA members at under 30 quid or F-B(UK) Rifle Club membership for NRA members only at under a tenner a year. The second option means you have to be a member of the NRA to shoot at Bisley.

However there is more to life than just Bisley and if the F-B(UK) Rifle Club could offer a cheaper alternative to full NRA membership for people who live a fair distance from Bisley. This mean if they would like to shoot at it a few times a year plus like the idea of having insurance cover for their equipment, legal advise and of course third party cover when shooting on club days then F-B(UK) Club would be worth looking at.

Alternatively it could be a way of meeting up with other forum members for a plink or competition under a common banner plus it would offer the opportunity to arrange competitions with other clubs.

I must admit it's not really leaping out at me as an option. Mainly due to geography and partly because I am already a member of an NRA affiliated club and partly because I see no advantage in changing from BASC to the NRA for insurance or representation.

Sorry, but at this stage I'd have to say it's not for me.

Sandgroper, also I take it you have no reason to shoot at Bisley? That would be your main reason for having no interest.
Being a member of an affiliated club does not mean you can shoot at Bisley. That only means you can shoot at Bisley with the club as a club shoot. Not with the forum.

That's why I think Bnz and I would be interested.

So have I got this right? The aim is that as long as you are a firearm licence holder, have a competency card if you want to go to Bisley, have insurance either through an affiliated club or with something like the BASC you could pay a fee to be a member of FB(UK) Shooting Club.

If I have got that right it sounds like a good deal. We are members of a club down the road that is affiliated to the NRA but that does not allow us to go and shoot at Bisley when we want to or when an event has been arranged through FBUK. We cannot afford to join the NRA as well. This way we get to keep the use of our local club, the shoots they arrange at Bisley and get a chance to meet at other times at Bisley or other ranges.

I can understand people living a long way from Bisley not being interested but for some of us southerners, Bisley is the only long distance range we can use due to being easy to get to when you are not in full physical health.

I know Bnz and I were not going to attend the postponed Diggle shoot but at least those that wanted to go could have gone without the hindrance of not being a member of the NRA.

All I'm hearing is Bisley, Bisley, Bisley!
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!
