I shot weaver with crossed thumbs for about 20 years and then after my first 3gun trip to the states they told me my grip and style wasn't best for competition and antiquated, 5 year gap since I'd shot pistol, i did pretty well considering... So back in the UK I went all isosceles and thumbs forward with an airsoft pistol, the following year back in the states for a competition, can't shoot pistol for toffee.

Now I've got a K22 and I'm improving again. Pistol is such a perishable skill you need to find what works for you and just refine those fundamentals until they're 2nd nature.

Very few people and no professional competition IPSC etc handgun shooters use the weaver stance.

What are you supposed to shoot at then?

You aren't allowed to use them for competing. But you can still compare accuracy

Section 7 was established primarily for the purpose of the preservation, collecting, demonstration, research and study of pistols of historic or heritage interest. Pistols may be used at the sites of storage for these purposes alone, and section 7 of the Act does not permit target practice or competition.
Isn't shooting at targets target practice? I remember reading somewhere that when shooting these pistols the range gets locked down and that targets are blank because shooting at proper targets I.e target practise isn't allowed.
