It worries me just how "over the barrel" we are not only by our own government, but also a bunch of self-elected parasites in the EU.
"Restrospective criminalisation of the people, collective punishment"
That's what it feels like.
We're possibly the MOST law abiding of people in order to be able to participate in our sport, hobbies or work and we are the most susceptible people to the whims of those in power.

No mate, that is what it IS and it is illegal AFIK under all this EU bullcrud.. Restrospective criminalisation - just NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Itb was legal THEN and is NOW and always will be. Is this not a recent phnomenon: making people criminals, started with liebour and 3600 new laws under their regime - all designed to make you a criminal one way or another. It worries me just how "over the barrel" we are not only by our own government, but also a bunch of self-elected parasites in the EU.

One thing though, hiding in a corner and saying nothing will not make this nonsense go away!
Political Correctness is the language of lies, written by the corrupt , spoken by the inept!

The scare mongering gets old quickly

23rd of June 2016...
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

got a response, my email below hers.... and I borrowed the bullet points from an earlier post, Vicky sounds like a good person, but as she says, there are more people involved than her, and multiple facets to all this rubbish
I've replied that I think its rubbish, and that if they must be controlled, they should be treated as primers are, but it would impact collectors etc.
Dear Stuart
Thank you for this. I am leading the negotiations for the internal market committee. This is the main committee and I am hoping to have a much more workable text.
You make excellent excellent points.
The Belgian police forces have suggested that sales of magazines needs to be better controlled as in the run up to the Paris attack the terrorists were buying large quantities of magazines. However i have heard many strong arguments that a registration of magazines would be totally disproportionate, expensive and unworkable. Therefore in my own report I was not intending to require this.
I have wondered whether a compromise -if necessary- it would be appropriate for sales of magazines to be treated similar to sales of ammunition.
What are your thoughts?

Re: EU Proposals Now Inc's MAGAZINES (FAC variation required
I had a visit from Police re a very large box of mags posted to me.
Just wanted to check I was not a terrorist stockpiling !
Got talking - and its clear that Police and Govt are concerned with mags.
They know that a practiced shooter with a bolt or straight pull is just as fast as a semi auto and that the quantity of mags dictate his rate of fire. And how long he could hold out if besieged.
It worries them that in theory that a FAC holder can have 1000 rounds in magazines ready to go, and be committing no offence under current legislation.
He said that the discussions he was privy to, related to "controlling" magazines like shotgun cartridges. Ie, must show FAC with slot for a rifle re that particular magazine. And a maximum number of mags possessed.
He said they had pretty much discounted serially numbering them as it would be an admin nightmare.

Re: EU Proposals Now Inc's MAGAZINES (FAC variation required
Had "a knock on the door" just after the handgun ban, as I'd been buying in a fair few Glock magazines from Europe for a mate that had just moved to the USA. Ended up on a watch list for a while as a result - so YES, magazines are not a new "concern" with the ivory tower policy enforcers.
Why not stripper clips though & chargers too?
I store a fair few of my reloaded rifle rounds ON their designated 5-rd clips, or the 10-rd clips for the 5.56 & the .223.
Add in a mag. charger guide & you can refill a 20-rd or 30-rd AR magazine very rapidly.
