Parts of AUS have already been routinely banning rifles purely based on looks. I wonder what happens if you paint them all blue or orange, is everything OK despite the fact that they are effectively rendered more misleading as to their purpose.

I don't think this will be adopted in any EU country or not many
However this could spell the end of all .22lr semi autos both right rifles and pistols (lbp)
And even ar-15s, aks, fals etc in the UK
Or even target shooting as a good reason because of terrorism

Canada banned the Armi-Jager AP80 .22lr some time ago because it "resembles" an AK-47

yeap bonkers, ban a 22 semi because its ar shape, but allow a 10/22?
Good old knee jerk reaction, but I can see the shooters in the EU having a bit to say, as they would lose semi auto shotguns, Pistols as well.
If they are looking at banning military looking weapons, where do the AI's and straight pull AR's come in? they aren't semi auto ..........
Resemble is quite a vague term isn't it? Does a Ruger 10/22 resemble the Ruger AC556 which is a full auto?
Does it resemble the M2 carbine which is also full auto?
And there are some full auto 10/22s in the States.
Maybe the 10/22 will also be banned.
Straight pull rifles wouldn't be banned though as Category B7 specifically refers to semi automatics.

I hope everyone's signed this - 1,550 needed to reach 25,000 = 93.8%

The least said about that bellend the better in my opinion...

So I've had my FAC for about 3 months and have been enjoying one of my rifles which happens to be a CMMG AR15 22lr semi, which is obviously going to be banned by this madness. I've spent a significant amount of money on it above the list price, trigger upgrades customisations etc, what happens in terms of compensation when these things happen? Do we have to just hand them in that thats it? What happened when they did away with handguns and centrefire SA's?

I think that after '97, they removed the compensation aspect of confiscation.

Wait for the law review ! Cant see any bans but who knows ! Compensation would put off the government from banning but they could do it stating target shooting is no longer a good reason thus after you would be forced to get rid of it without payment ! But if they go down that road don't be fooled that will only stop with .22's semi autos !

Hi "The Event",
I was getting at the fact that AI's and Straight pull rifles look military and therefore could be banned not that they are semi auto.
