If they are only bothered about Bisley, then why is national access to ranges, and the recent hire of a national shooting manager (not based at Bisley!) in their aims for the next few years?

Change the record, churning out the same old complaints against the NRA doesn't achieve anything.

I'm not saying they're perfect, but their last couple of years have shown promise.

Anyway. Regardless of what you think of any of our shooting organisations, it comes down to the individual to protect our sport too. Write to your MP. Contact the shooting organisations, get more people into shooting to do the same thing. Nobody is going to do it for you, you have to stand up and be counted.
Fair play. Reputations do, however, take a time to change. And as someone who wasn't even alive when 1987 occurred, I feel a bit bitter.

And to be positive, I have to say I have received some somewhat positive responses from my MP, which is amazing seeing he's a government minister. I plan to write a few more letters this month.

I was alive, but I wasn't shooting then (well, spud guns and cap guns!). I'm annoyed at the organisation of old, but that's nothing to do with who they are now.

Pistol shooting is my favourite thing to do, and I go to the US to do it. But I don't let that stop me from getting involved at Bisley. Competing in matches, helping run courses, RO'ing when possible, giving feedback to those who can initiate change and enjoying every moment of my sport. Being bitter achieves nothing, being proactive does (hopefully!)

The NRA should just rename themselves BSC, Bisley Shooting Club. Them having the word National in the title is a joke currently.

Lets just hope that the current mob at the NRA if consulted have a bit more spunk about them that the quislings that went before them.

I would love to see positive things come out of this review, sadly I am sure it will be just another excuse to degrade our rights even further .. Its just depressing!

Before the election I encouraged as many people as possible to contact all the parties to see what their position on firearm ownership was and what, if any changes they proposed to make .. The Consvatives assured me "no changes were planned" WE WILL SEE!

That is not their concern, they do not care about that - the state will look after you. Taking away your guns because THEY do not like them is what they are about - just look at Obama / Bloomberg in the USA and how much that market is worth. They would destroy it overnight if they could just so satisfy their agenda..

Remember that those who want gun bans and gun control only want to push their own agenda - there is NO valid reason for their plans. After guns it will be fishing etc etc..

This is what they want us to have

I agree with Chuck , but it is curious how they dont want to ban all guns, just YOUR guns, there will still be estate rifles (even in scotland), there will still be pistols, just held by the police, who as we all know, never shoot the wrong people. There will still be pistols held by very important people for self defence (but not admitted to in public), Gerry Adams will still have his pistols and so will Mr McGuiness. No, it is just YOUR guns that need to be got rid of.
Can you still rent the cellars under the houses of parliament ???

Letter on its way to my MP right now. It may not do any good other than let him know how I feel about non-elected morons interfering in my hobby but I can't just bend over and take it from these jobsworths without doing something.

The stupid government loving liberals / sheeple want the government to be armed ! They even demand that the plod are given more fire power ! they are brain washed into thinking guns = America = mass killings every day UK and Europe all guns banned = hardly any gun crime

Just like the stupid home office radio campaign some years back had people believe that if you carry a knife the other person can take it off you and stab you. When some sheep said this to me I asked him when was last time you disarmed some scum hellbent on stabbing you ! He shut up pretty quick
