the problem is no one will put aside the squabbles and they all want to be the ones in charge, to attract more members and thus more money.

Well, there must be way more stupid short-sighted British gunners than I would have guessed....... makes no sense.bradaz11 wrote:the problem is no one will put aside the squabbles and they all want to be the ones in charge, to attract more members and thus more money.

well surely the proof process is just that.FredB wrote:In answer to Dromias question----type approval---as used for motor vehicles,

wiki;
'Type Approval or Certificate of Conformity is granted to a product that meets a minimum set of regulatory, technical and safety requirements. Generally, type approval is required before a product is allowed to be sold in a particular country, so the requirements for a given product will vary around the world'
the UK laid out that in order for it to be sold, it has to pass proof.... boom.

You obviously don't know much about type approval. After the testing authority has taken one of your early production cars off the line and crashed it into a concrete block at 40mph, they don't expect a customer to buy it and drive it away.

is that not just the method of test they lay out? so you are saying they should destructive test a batch of rifles a maker makes?

Re: UK Proof houses, a useless (and expensive) anachronism?
I think that the Manufacturer pays for Type Approval.
The end user/importer pays for Proof.
Is this correct?

Officially correct, though you could argue the end user pays for Type Approval too as it'll be thrown into the dev costs that will need clawing back :Pbigfathairybiker wrote:I think that the Manufacturer pays for Type Approval.
