Friend of mine who is a retired Police Officer, now the Armourer for the department, occasionally invites me down into the 50 yard range they have in the building to shoot the SWAT teams MP5s on full auto bursts. Really is good fun.

I've just sent a message to a good friend, who retired from the special forces many years ago, asking him the OP's question in a round about way.
