Re: Mini McQueens rig
nah, i dont mean screw it on. i mean clip it over a screw. the hole in the conduit sits over the screw to stop it turning
quick look on screwfix makes 100 clips and 4 mtrs of conduit £5.10

edit....
ooops, i see where you are confused. make the conduit the replacement for the upright bit of wood. screw the wooden board to that yes. but then the flag is drop on/off to the mech. the clips are attached to the hinge via a small piece of wood, servo attaches to this. flag drops in.... is that clearer?
caps would be more expensive as they are 34p a pair, so £15 a 100

Needs to be tactical black
I get your idea now, that would work I reckon!

Re: Mini McQueens rig
they do make black conduit, i just thought in light of the racism, people would prefer white
for the price of the conduit, i wouldnt even keep it when swapping the boards after they are shot out
add £10 for a pocket cutter, and there you go.
if you find a nice supply in somewhere like b&q / screwfix for the hinge, screws etc. you would probably be best selling a starter pack with a few flags, a fully assembled hinge/clip assy. with a couple of hinges, all the clips, some screws and a shopping list. then let people buy the rest and copy your assembled example? with of course all the servos and linkeages included

Re: Mini McQueens rig
Yes Tony, not the best prices but their stock is fairly reliable. eBay for the latest lot
Re: Mini McQueens rig
if you go proper large at any time then I have some 200kg servos LOL tonegawa things, we used to change the gears around to speed them up and slot the cases to cool them easier, then run them as steering servos on 1/5th scale RC cars :)
Re: Mini McQueens rig
We might end up building full-sized rigs if the minis work fine, I'll keep your franken-servos in mind

Re: Mini McQueens rig
Bradaz, here's your target setup :-) works well and should be fine with the control horn I'm looking at

Re: Mini McQueens rig
happy to help. of course my design consultancy fees will be deducted from the price of mine i presume
looks good, did you go for 20 or 25mm conduit?
how well do the clamps hold, is there a need to stop it turning in the clips?
