Bob had decided the warenty is void if home loads are used, so it all boils down to if or if not home loads were used.

I always load my own ammo but most rifle manufactures state warenty void if using home loads.
I suppose it's fair enough.

I wonder were you would stand if your car went wrong and you had been running it on home brew diesel?

Assuming it was legal to do so and lots of people did it, if the manufacturer failed to bring it to your attention, then you would probably have a case.

The manufacture is the one who has to convince people that the rifle is safe to use .... has he?

goes back to "fit for purpose" guys, I just don't know, to be fair to Bob, you really do stick your neck out with a totally new design!

Most new firearms are a variation/modification on a tried and trusted firearm, is Bobs 9mm bolt a new design??

Slightly disconcerting that a low powered 9mm can cause this sort of damage really!

All I can say is, if I was him I would have sorted this out amicably a long while ago, just look at the sh*t storm its caused on here and other forums!!!

Really not good PR for SGC and he does make some great products to be fair.

Nope perfectly legal, how ever go in for a fuel pump or lamba sensor fault after using it and see how you get on, a warenty is a cival agreement with terms set out by both parties. Bob has excluded hand loads, no matter how silly you think that it you have broken the contact and invalidated your warenty.

Your only hope is to prove the fault could have happened with a factory load

That's all very well assuming you know you are bound by specific terms and conditions. A car manufacturer includes the respective documentation to enforce this. Did Bob include this information with the rifle..?

Maybe so but a new design should be tested for all eventualities, ND and destructive testing and X-raying for micro cracks or whatever....was there sufficient R&D done on this "new design" or was it n old deign tweaked? I assume Bob actually builds these and doe snot contract the work to others, the component that failed came from somewhere but Bob sold it.

Much as there probably IS a legal remedy, the BIG BIG question is " can you afford it. Probably not and that will be what Bob may be relying on.

There seems a trend of issues with his guns,. My uber pricey V22 had to get a new receiver fitted after a short time..
