I have done all of the above, not had one reply. My local MP Conservative thinks the only people who should have guns are the Military Not even our police forces.
Same here, including posting hand written versions of the letters to MEP, pretty disgusting really, especially the UKIP bloke

I got a reply to my email to my MP email, from a minion, saying that as its a European directive i'm best off contacting my MEP's
FYI If anyone is under the delusion that if this is passed it'll only be .22 and 12b 'military looking' rifles/shotguns that will get legisalted against in this country you're living in a dream world. While the outline of to directive may only refer to those types, the subsequent legislation in THIS country to impliment the directive will be framed in the manner of other firearms acts, none of which make any reference to the asthetics of the gun, they all go for the action/function on the gun. Do people really think they'll bother to distinguish between a straight beech stocked 10/22 and a ATI black stocked one when they can simply ban them both/only way to make sure you don't add a black stock to your 10/22 action after the fact (as they are registered/traceable items)?

BASC, BSSC, NRA, The Sportsmans Association, UKPSA, FACE to name the organisations i'm aware of have all made submissions to the directive commission. BASC/SA/UKPSA are just the only ones that seem to be actively telling their members they have aaarggh

At least they are active, I actually read BASC's q&a weeks ago and they seem on the ball, they actually seemed to be in the know as opposed to the firearmsuk which sounded very off (the deacts reactivated was Charlie Hebdo, the ak's from last month were always live and came from a black market guy in Germany selling Yugo's and chinese ones and it sounds like the schengen area worked a treat there, I always knew this would happen).

In Marseille alone, every year around 20/25 people are gunned down by smuggled military grade weapons. It has been going on for years meaning that now the muslim terrorists can rely easily on efficient networks of mainly north-african & balkan criminals to access all sort of weapons ranging from AK/AKM to RPG 7/18/22.
Instead of admitting it, the "authorities" will now go after the sportsmen semi-auto AR looking rifles ...
