The reticle works for me. It depends on what you want to do with it.
At short ranges it's fine, at longer ones it's a bit clunky. That said it is very clear and quick to get on target with. All a mater of personal preference.

Ah ok. Good feedback for sure.
I'm looking to shoot at 100 yards mainly with a couple of trips to MOD ranges to stretch it out to 300-400 hopefully.
Do you think the scope is capable? Or am I better off with a mil dot? The wide range of magnification is appealing for sure.

Another Mosin for the collection picked up today, a nice 1926 Izhevsk M91 Dragoon updated to M91/30 spec post-1930.Serial numbers match apart from the magazine floorplate and it has been arsenal refurbed with a wartime stock at some point and the bore is very good for a 90 year old rifle.

Found a Winchester P14 last week
Had it sent to Ovenpa so I could have a look over it and decided that it was worth a go
Got it home and gave it a good strip and clean
The bore has some pitting but to be expected for an older rifle
Just knocked some rounds up, Sierra 2155 Palma match 155's, ready to try out at the club tomorrow,if not totally rained off, and see how she goes and see if my quick load developed rounds are any good in reality

Just took delivery on Monday of my latest (and likely last) toy - a Remington 1911R1 in .45 ACP. Last night I picked up 500 rounds for it. Can't wait for Sunday and the chance to shoot it! clapclap

Had my Remington 1911R1 out to the range a couple of times now. It shoots very accurately some really nice off-hand groups. But then it does have a match-grade stainless barrel and bushing.
I have had the occasional feeding issue with the factory Remington 7 round mags - last round hands up at a sharp angle and have to do the rap the back of the slide trick. So just to be sure it was the magazines I went out and bought 3 Wilson Combat aftermarket mags - no issues with those at all. Until I get more than 200 rounds through it, I am not making any real judgements. The 1911 often requires a break-in period. Hope I can get the factory mags to work - aftermarket mags are a little pricey.
One thing I can tell you for sure - I like it! It's so reassuringly solid. I noticed that all my handguns have not a scrap of polymer on them. I saw some blog the other day were somebody said that the 1911 and the CZ 75 sucked compared to modern pistols because they were all-steel and heavy. Well harden-up snowflake. That's why we like the all-steel legacy pistols.
