Why would a p14 not qualify for a service rifle competitions as I'm sure it was issued to parts of our armed forces during first and second world wars ???

I am sure a P14 is a fine candidate for a Service Rifle competition, unfortunately mine is not eligible as it is fitted with a Brindles trigger box so is non standard.

Oh I see bet it shoots well with that fitted.

It also has a fine vernier rear sight and sniper cheek piece with a good barrel, yes it shoots very nicely and the trigger is one of my all time favourites.

Hi I could be interested in a service rifle shoot. The furthest I've shot my no4 is 300 yds, at this distance my sight is at 500 yds as the sight is too high. I was interested to read Staffs is taking 6 months to turn around a FAC. My one I sent off six weeks ago, wanting a one off for a one on and am still waiting. When I was under North Wales, I sold a 45-70 to a gun shop, carried on to Police Headquarters, told them I wanted one off and one on and twenty minutes later I was on my way to buy the new rifle. Proves it can be done.

I had a go at the Trafalgar with my SMLE, and it was excellent fun
