Just had a call from Roger Bill, they are collecting it Tuesday for return to SGC, he did ask if I wanted another one but to be honest I really don't know at this point.

Glad you're ok, sort of! Give it a week or so then I'm sure you'll want to get back on the range. Hope you get this sorted real soon.

I agree, get it back to SGC as they built it. By all means have another one on loan whilst yours is being checked over but do not relinquish ownership of your original and ask for a report on the failure. It will be interesting to hear if this is an out sourced item or built in house. Whatever happens SGC need to inspect the rifle very quickly so they can make a decision, they may need to issue an advisory or recall for inspection.

Do you have any pics of the bolt ?

I've got an early Mk1 9mm (uzi mags) with approx 500O rounds through it & I must say it runs and feeds really well. I use Wolf steel cased ammo , which it seems to like , but its incredibly dirty stuff.

Hope it all gets sorted out for you.

I think I would be tempted to send a sample of the ammo you used to the proof house for pressure testing! The Gun maker will undoubtedly use the ammo as the cause of failure. (Hope I haven't misjudged them!)

Agree with Baldie rifle needs to go to SGC asap,
very worried as to what caused lug to break and peel up top by charging handle

But once again glad you are OK and hope you get back behind a trigger soon

Good. Your "contract" is with Roger Bills and not SGC. The rifle was not fit for purpose and hence, you are entitled to a full refund from the retailer, Sale of Goods Act 1979 if memory serves, this is what will protect you as a consumer. It matters not that this is a restricted/controlled item, it's still a commododity. Get that refund now. Don't bother with another.

The dispute over quality/fit for purpose/material or workmanship issues are for the retailer to sort with SGC. I guarantee that when SGC eventually get this gun back, the ammo/maintenance/moon cycle/fairies will be to blame for this happening. Everything but, SGC!

Save yourself a lot of drama and get rid......

Sorry SimG but I do not agree, the cause of this failure has to be clearly identified and I think there is more chance of that is the title is retained by the owner.

Ovenpaa, indeed the cause of this needs to be identified. It needs to be identified and other owners informed of any potential problems/recalls by the manufacturer. My post is about phaedra1106 protecting himself. There is more than enough personal experiences, anecdotal, written and posted all over the place as to the likely immediate response from SGC, especially if any of their products are questioned. This has the potential to drag on for months, if not years.....

Without doubt, I will write a complete and without reservation apology if SGC were to prove otherwise.

However, phaedra1106 needs to let someone else deal with this on a "business level" to save himself an awful lot of anguish.

Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982. Retailer is liable - goods not fit for purpose.

Phaedra, if you are an NRA member and if you wish, NRA has the resources (me) to run a technical investigation. I do not know SGC at all, but any reputable manufacturer will run a thorough product investigation and respond properly - they cannot risk that there are a bunch of guns with a potential fault and next time there might be catastrophic consequences. So returning to the manufacturer through the retailer may well be appropriate.
