A friend of mine had a scary experience in croatia .. A driven boar coming right at him took 3 in the chest from a .308 and kept coming.. It was finally dropped with a headshot from feet away .... He is now looking for another rifle .. .375mag perhaps !

A Mosin Nagant would be good in that sitiuation: it's very long and the bayonet is longer still...

i tried 139gr 6.5 x55 & seen them walk off !!! 150gr 308 slows them, The best is 180gr s/p from a 308 , it stop them in there tracks, just behind the lug . (upto 150yds) I done a few now ;)

They still produce the 196grn Oryx. A great round on boar.
