Here in the north west, it's as quick as any other forum.

I'm on a small rural phone exchange and I only get half a meg. anyway but I've no complaints speed-wise.

'Sh*t off a shovel' was always used as an expression of speed in the north. Example "Just got a new motorbike - goes like sh*t off a shovel!" Sometimes, the word 'shiny' was placed before 'shovel'.
