They look a bit 'clunkey' but it is a prototype and I'm all for new ideas.
Interesting to see if this gets into production.

That's black and looks a bit like one of those nasty assault rifles I've read about. It also looks like it can fire very fast and has a box thing where the spare bullets go. I'd no idea civilian target shooters were allowed to own that sort of thing, my friends in the Gun Control Network told me the EU had just passed a law saying that anything that shoots fast, had a bullet box and looks fun must be banned.

Steyr AUG, about as good looking as your average black and decker battery drill, with a worse trigger.

Handled one at the Phoenix, opening the action was a little stiff but snapped shut very nicely, almost felt spring assisted.
Asked if they'd be making one in .45ACP but they said they're focusing on the 9mm for the time being.
Was told it'll be about 4 months until they're on the market.

at 2k I'd rather get a 32-20 uberti 1873, what I would prefer though is something in 327mag or 32H&R mag. just to reduce some logistics, and have some nicer, stronger brass.
I probably will not replace my 9mm lever release with another 9mm, unless the police start getting funny about my 9mm allowances that is currently shared with my sec7 stuff.
I think I'd rather have something in 357mag but mag fed than 9mm tbh.
I guess we will have to see, and if it comes to it, a nice designed straight pull is going to be better than a poorly thought, rushed lever action

I'm very glad it exists and glad that the likes of SGC push things like this out for our starved/limited market, but have to agree that the price is way out there. Justified or not (in consideration of the work and research done) it's ultimately surely just a tactical looking lever action rifle that takes Glock mags (perhaps that's too harsh). £1200 or round about that mark, or the same concept but in .223, and that'd be different... I have .223 straight pull down already so I think I'm going to use my LR compensation on a VZ58. Would like to keep 9mm for something though.

the thing is, 9mm in a rifle isn't exactly a great round. there isn't a huge cheap supply of it like there is in the US, and even bullets here are still pricey. 45acp is a similar issue, but is a lot more easily reloaded.
there have got to be better caliber options out there

Maximising sales is always going to be the name of the game. A pistol calibre gun is going to be able to be used on far more ranges than a rifle calibre one in the UK. 9mm and 45ACP are the most commonly available and popular rounds for pistol calibre box magazine fed guns.
