Deer Stalking… reliable word of mouth recommendation from someone you know has undertaken such stalking being offered by a specific syndicate is best. Like other walks of life, stalking has its scammers. E.G., make sure there is deer, of the species sought, on the land being made available; that appropriate insurance is in place; that there is recourse for recompense if it all goes wrong. In addition, obtain and understand terms and conditions; consider the implications of allowing a syndicate leader to be a FAC mentor; make sure ‘coaches’ are suitably qualified; consider the quality of deer management, the construction & execution of a shooting plan and safety; determine if the land is over-shot.

If in doubt, contact BASC or similar.

Anyone considered to be a scammer will be banned without warning.

There has been a distinct change in how the Animal Rights movement works, whilst you still see direction act like foolishly releasing Game Birds from their pens they have moved to a more legalistic manner of operation.

1) Infiltration of organisations that manage wildlife or the Countryside from RSPCA and RSPB through to the National Trust. Once on the boards on these organisations they seek to hamper or stop any pest control or hunting undertaken anywhere

2) Seeking out holes in legislation and then putting in legal challenges backed up with plenty of money to stop pest control and hunting activities

3) Controlling the media narrative with the help of high profile names like Packham and a media that doesn't understand the matter in hand

Certainly not helpful and the antis will use as part of their attempt to control the narrative, I can understand why it happened passions are running very hot over this.

By the looks of it NE are going to be forced into launching an onerous and costly system of licensing authorisations to get around this. This of course is exactly what the antis want, the more bureaucratic and costly something becomes the less people want to do it.

Balls are what we need...someone with balls to cut through the crap.

As suggested in the DM article, make it ok to shoot them without any license.
