i would slug it,but dont want kranks thinking/saying ive messed around with it,
so my plan is to take it back and see what they say,

The picture didn't load first time I saw your post. As Dromia says - that ain't right.
Looking down bore of my No4 Mk2 the rifling is loud and proud - nothing like your barrel which looks like a vague memory.
I can only assume the rifle was so well covered with cosmoline that the state of the bore went unnoticed at Kranks.

guess theres bigger /better factory ammo ,best see what kranks will do /say tomorrow
No better factory .303 ammo available in the UK, only other factory ammo generally available here is the Seller & Bellot which I believe is also boat tail.
If it is BT bullets, then re-loading will be only option.
Just checked......and I was talking bollox....the Sellier & Bellot 180gr .303 ammo uses a FMJ flat base bullet, (a la the MkVII mil) so get a box and try that, but, I suspect, as Dromia says, the muzzle is FUBAR'd.
Their Soft Point 303's are Flat Base, but their 180 grain 303 rounds use their 2909 bullet which is Boat Tailed.

Your rifle was covered in cosmoline when you got it....
I reckon your barrel is still loaded with 'cos', give the barrel a bloody good cleaning. Believe it or not the troops used to plug the ends of their barrels, and then pour boiling water into them to clear the stuff. I've got a picture of them doing it somewhere. Your rifle is fine, clean the barrel...

Beat me to it just seeing that muzzle photo.
Yep, remove the wood and boiling water it out. Cos is chemically related to Vaseline, so you need to boil it out and let the melted 'cos run out.

I thought I read ballkeeper had cleaned the bore.
What would be the effect on the barrel of firing ten rounds through thick, solid, cosmoline?
Wouldn't it bulge?

Are both their SP's flat base? They do a 150 grain as well as a 180 grain SP for the .303?

Would hard bake it, making it harder to remove.
I've just looked back and your right, but he said he used Brunox......which is not Cosmo remover.

Putting live ammo down a cosmolined barrel is not a good idea at all.

The 180 grain SP is the 2940 and it's Flat Base. Which has got to be worth a try for Lee Enfield reloaders generally as it should be cheaper than Hornady but 0,311" as opposed to 3.12" for Hornady. Range rules permitting of course.
