Sadly most things military in 7.62x51 have either been butchered to make them legal or cost a small fortune (or both). I was shown a superb pair of boxed parker hale sniper rifles a while back....I shudder to think how much.

I always fancied an L42 until I realized how much I could buy in terms of modern new rifles for the same price. That is probably the wrong way of looking at it, but there you go.

Good luck though matey.

The Ishapore 2A/2A1s are new build, not conversions, and are still selling for less than £500, thanks no doubt to the Enfield snobbery that pervades the self called collector brigade.

I am no fan of the 7.62/308 round but I do have a Ishapore 2A1 and it is a fine rifle that mitigates a good way against the soulessness of loading 7.62/308 and makes shooting that calibre mildly interesting.

just out of curiousity, is it possible for the starter of a thread to move it to another section if for example, the situation changes due to feedback from the thread?
