just toying with the idea at the mo.
Here's how my .300 WSM rifle now looks - Tikka T3 barrelled action, KRG X-Ray chassis, Tier-One UniMount, Swarovski PVS 6-24x50PL scope, Accurate-Mag AICS mags, Atlas bi-pod.

(N.B. this is actually my .308 Tikka with a 20" barrel, but the .300 WSM is now in the same stock with the same scope/mount and thus looks the same except for barrel length).

While it might look the part for PR, I wouldn't recommend it as is because of its recoil. It can be tamed by a brake or moderator, but I think you'd also find projected barrel life to be a negative - 1,000-1,500 rds tops especially with double-based powders.

Very nice sir.the first thing that struck me was the barrel looked short for a a 24 barrel. It looks light with the skeleton type stock.what overall weight is the 300wsm.do you have a brake on it when you shoot.definitely a damn site nicer than a t3 varmint stock.atb Berger

The rifle weighs around 12 lbs at present and kicks like a mule without brake or suppressor. We use a Tier One/Third Eye TacBrake and Spartan III suppressor which helps to tame it, but it still kicks more than it did when in its previous chassis (MDT Tac21) at around 15lbs without can.

What bullets do you currently use in uour 300wsm and what velocities are they running at.have you considered having it throated longer to take the heavier berger bullets.

We're not using anything heavy - currently 175gr VLDs at around 2950fps. Also 155gr Scenars at around 3150fps.

My 284 is launching the 180gr hybrids at around 2900 fps max so recoil must be similar.you are burning more powder though.equals extra uumph.i always use a brake or a mod.
