My go to gun oil, been using it since I was 15 when we got it at school for the cadet rifles. Tried others, always go back to Ballistol.

The old Balistol is good gear, I use it on our sofa periodically, brings it up beautifully but dont half niff to start with.

I did find that with time it tended to congeal though.

Otherwise Mpro7 (or whatever I can blag).

Frogspunk seems to work well on slicking a bolt, works lovely on my No4.

Anything wrong with motor oil like Mobil one or other quality synthetic oils? Was thinking of putting some in a drier bottle.

A good turbo engine oil is what you need, oomans. Designed to withstand high temperatures and pressures without carbonising and clogging. Ask your local tribologist...

A quick squirt with WD40 before shooting commences as done for me for the last 25 years I don't see any reason to change tack now.

But as a aside I work in research we have tested every lube known to man. They have all been bench marked and tested I could not possibly reveal the results as I have signed a none disclosure document. But if you send me a email. I promise to sell you 50ml of the final product we managed to make it proved to be the best bolt lube in the world for the small sum of £250.
