Busy, good show as usual. No blackrifle stand I could find, wanted a mag loader! Only had 3 hours, not enough time really!

I wandered around and around for ages - I'm still not sure I saw it all! It was surprisingly busy for a Friday, I glad I didn't leave it till Sunday.

It took me nearly half an hour to find my car as parking was spread all around the site!
I managed to get a lovely English side by side plus a few bits and bobs.

Blackrifle aren't exhibiting, just visiting

I got there at 8.15am on friday and walked straight in, I couldn't believe it as I remember standing in a Q for an hour at the first one at Stoneleigh. It was mainly hunting and shotgun stuff, not my thing really as I like the WW1 and WW2 milsurp stuff. Saw quite a few people I know and several traders, some noticible absences including one that was advertised as being there :squirrel: I think it will be the last time I go as it's not worth the 200 mile round trip.

Couldn't believe the NRA didn't have a stand. As a result of this and the lack of being able to apply online, I'm still not a member. Perhaps they'd have more members if they made more of an effort.

It's been manic today, so much so we're getting more stock brought over for the last day! Just hope I get chance to have a look round myself before others start to pack up.

I attended the first shooting show of recent years at Stoneleigh (three years ago ?) and promised that I would never return because it was a complete and utter disorganised shambles. In fact I would go so far as to say it was total disaster in more ways than one. However a friend persuaded me to give it another try again yesterday and have to admit that I was very impressed.

Yes it won't be what everyone is looking for but overall I thought that it was very good. Most of the importers or large players were represented along with a number of specialised traders/companies actually selling their wares. The best thing about it in my eyes was that it was nearly all shooting related with only a very few unrelated market stalls selling the usual tat.
Would I go again next year? A definite yes.
