Good find Rab. The new models seem to have an MSRP of $1014 and are available to pre-order from multiple (US) sources for around $850.

I had a Winchester 88 in .308 with a Pecar scope which I used for the running deer, when there was a pistol range alongside and long before the BSRC got their mits into it. It was a good and fast rifle for this discipline, being a lever action with a box mag which I think held *5 rounds, maybe 4. Always regretted getting rid of it, so maybe a Henry would be a timely replacement. If the 88 had a problem it was the recoil. This was a light hunting rifle and could be heavy on the shoulder with commercially loaded cartridges. The plastic butt plate did not help - a rubber recoil pad would have made a big difference. I think the 88 with iron sights weighed in at slightly over 7 pounds.

*Edit: It had a 4 round mag

Jon Fancis at CPG Design has one for £450 I very nearly had it myself last year but something else came first as always.
