Their SRP is $1100 and most people have been able to get them for around $850-950, Gunbroker is the place to go to be fleeced :)

Obviously there's the cost of importing them but when they're bringing in 50 at a time that's not a lot per-rifle. However, it is what it is and as long as it shoots as well as everyone says it does I'll be more than happy with it.

I've a bit of free time this morning so I'll take off the handguard and do a couple of photos, I may even show my Heath Robinson conversion of the Inline Fabrication mounting plate with the Rockchucker and case ejection system mounted using the Lee bench plate system (assuming the bolts I ordered come in this mornings post!) :)

Ruger list SRP at 1399.... Did Wingnut give you some old catalog he found at a fair in Helsinki or some other frozen half to death place?

No, they said $1399 but expected it to be $1100 in the real world, most as I said have been selling for around the $900 mark.

Here's the barrel nut and "C" section add-ons to make it fit the handguard, these were before I opened up the holes to allow the the "C" sections to rotate a bit further to try and get the picatinny rail on the handguard to align with the one on the receiver. It's purely cosmetic but I don't like things not to be square :)

Note the rather poor quality of the machining of the "C" sections.

And having given the rifle a good wipe down and 2 layers of CLP this is the lovely brown crap that came off the outside of the barrel on the both cleans!

It shot the 1000 rnds or so complimentary ammunition that came with the rifle that I put through it before you got back from the US without any problem. No sights so I had it clamped in a vise with that colander thing that is wrapped round the barrel as it seemed to serve no useful purose. It did cracking 4" groups at 50 yrds. O:-)

Quite a lot of online tutorials on DIY case customisation using a hot wire or craft knife

Makes for a very neat job
