Re: EU Proposed ban UPDATE
The proposed directive also includes firearms that look like "military-style" rifles.
How in God's name does *looking* like something make it more dangerous? I could add a fully body kit and spoilers to my car, but it would still drive the same speed.
Also, major cringe on the section that refers to to "Alarm weapons" such as flare pistols and starter guns. I suppose though, that if you threw a starter pistol at someone, you might injure them if you hit them just right.

Re: EU Proposed ban UPDATE
I'll wager Cameron (Conservative) is felating Juncker as we speak. The Tories will LOVE this - gun control being their 'thing'.
We're done.
We're done.

Re: EU Proposed ban UPDATE
Too true they will shaft us.
They did it in 97 and will do it again rather than support us for all their lying rhetoric.
From today's Guardian:
"Theresa May, the UK home secretary, has also been calling for an EU crackdown on the firearms business."

Re: EU to propose banning semi auto "weapons"
Is there a similar petition on the UK Paliament e-petitions site? (https://petition.parliament.uk/) I just had a quick search and I can't find anything other than the usual "bring back pistols" and "allow ex-military to tool up with what they want" requests.
We could do with something well worded to gather a decent enough response to get Theresa May to calm down a little.
Re: EU to propose banning semi auto "weapons"
As usual the government try to punish the good & law abiding citizens of this country for the actions of a few radical people.
As if gun ownership in the UK wasn't difficult enough already for the people who want to shoot for recreational reasons!
I really don't think our leaders understand the fun & challenge of shooting sports and how great it is socially, I wish my club shot more than once a month.
I'm fairly new to firearms shooting and have to say the people at my club are some of the best people I have ever met!
Fingers crossed the government won't make any other stupid decisions any time soon!

We've been talking about this for a while, it means potentially good bye to mil style ones like M&P 15-22's. The other parts are worse though, especially the proposed deact standards. Write to your MEP and get something organised.Pete wrote:Just recieved this:

Good old knee jerk reaction, but I can see the shooters in the EU having a bit to say, as they would lose semi auto shotguns, Pistols as well.
If they are looking at banning military looking weapons, where do the AI's and straight pull AR's come in? they aren't semi auto ..........
Re: New EU Firearms regs.........
Well according to Mike 'government lover' yardley he believes that UK legal ar-15s have rapid firing mechanisms that help spree killings and the like and such people who own them are fantasists and must be banned now except for the police off course because they are more trustworthy
