If I raided my piggy bank for the 6.5 Creedmoor, I would have around £500 left for the optic. Any suggestions for a good scope at that price would be appreciated!

If it were me - I would go for a second hand Nightforce.
They have been novel in making it able to accept different mags - that will save you some money.
But I have heard factory ammo wont be cheap - unless you happen to reload...........

Gotta say, I actually love the look of that. At £2k though I'd not even entertain it, but £1400 (although still out my league at present) I'd give it some serious consideration. My club has a R700 with AI stock & it looks/feels great but do like the Magpul hunter stock too.
My plan is to buy a second hand R700 & upgrade it as & when I can & funds allow. Choices choices eh.

When the 6.5 Creedmoor was launched, Hornady actually printed the recipe on the side of the box so you could replicate it hand loading. I was looking at a Ruger Hawkeye Predator in such a chambering and Hannams were listing the ammo at the same price quality Hornady stuff was listing for.

Vortex Viper PST in 6-24x50 is a smidgen over £500 new, you'll need mounts too.

Personal preference really, I like SFP on a scope mostly to keep the reticle nice and thin at distance.
I was thinking of going Sightron again for a 6.5CM.

I have that very scope, reticle lines are quite thick but it's very nice to use. I also have the 10-50x60 and the reticle lines are very thin!. There's a decent dealer in The Netherlands for quite a few makes of scopes if you fancy a trip over on the ferry?,

Well, that'll teach me, trawling through threads on here and re-reading this one I ended up placing an order for a Ruger in 6.5 Creedmoor, should be a nice early Christmas present :)

Aww - never knew ya cared - and we only got you the same as last year (socks & pull up Huggies)
Will put in for a 6.5 variation now - it'll be Xmas before it's processed!
