Read again Charlie, the Ghost Gunner is a CnC mill that's pretty much just plug and play. Check out their website for their claims. CnC is all about the programming, so a mill designed with one function and the correct programming and process should be perfectly capable of knocking out a lower.
As for 3D printers, the newer resin printers are capable if some very high quality prints and some of the newer materials may even be suitable for an AR 15 lower. They're still not quite plug and play though, thank god

The ghost gunner is only designed to "finish off" an 80% lower, not take a billet and turn it into a lower.

To do that with no intervention from a trained machinist would take a 5axis CNC wonder beast worth tens of thousands of pounds.

Even then I'm not sure you could drop in a billet and just walk away.

Still, all very exciting stuff. I'm waiting for a 5 axis CNC mill and 3d printer in one for £2,000. I reckon it won't be long.

There's got to be a proper smilie for "self-pluggery", not just for journos but all others who also do a bit of business here.... That made me laugh.
I'd post a pic suggestion but this is a family forum after all...
