You're not gonna end the stereotype with haven't arrested anyone since the Miner's strike but know too much about your superiors early career's to let go are you?

For some its not a stereotype, its a reality especially round my end, but saying that it tiring hearing the Barnsley lot bleat after a while. I'm still guessing you don't have a high opinion of Police Scotland and its FEOs? I remember an old Derbyshire police Marksmen once calling the the Scottish political situation Devaluation.

No, that's not what I'm saying at all. There is a bit of me that actually likes the fact that uniformed officers are performing as FEOs, but, as far as policing is concerned, not had any dealing with Police Scotland. Still can't get my head round that they do not have their own version of PACE and quite frankly, relying on "corroboration" can see all sorts of wrong, going on, IMO...
And one thing I'll never get over is pre Police Scotland, it was the corruption at senior officer level of Central Scotland Police as it was, that allowed Thomas Hamilton to keep his guns. Then the bent ba$tard who allowed it, after being slated at the Cullen enquiry, stated on the steps that "All guns should be banned", and fecked off with his fat pension and the blood of 16 children on his hands!
And if anyone knows where ex-ACC Douglas McMurdo is, and wants to tell him what I said so McMurdo can challenge it in court, I'm more than happy to give you my details to pass on!

Uniformed officers as FEOs; some areas are training up PCSO's for the job....

It's as you stated he, went somewhere he couldn't be extradited from, I wonder why

? Plus wasn't McMurdo seen actually going to Hamilton's flat implying some kind of close relationship. It seems there are things they aren't telling us and would get some people in trouble who should have been raked over the coals and possibly sent to jail themselves and if we did track McMurdo down, he'd likely bunker down like the coward he is Sim.

WHAT?
God help us - thank goodness my FEO is ... ... ...
- Intelligent
- Fair
- Competent
- Approachable
- Helpful
- Co-operative
- A retired Police Sergeant
- Should still be around for my next renewal in 2020

I vaguely remember reading that he vanished into deliberate obscurity via New Zealand. Probably senile or dead by now.
Regarding PCSOs as FEOs - there is one English licensing department that uses a tiny handful of PCSOs. Unless they're subject to the same level of security vetting (CTC or SC, depending on police area, for a basic FEO. Can also be something called Management Vetting, which looks like it falls somewhere between CTC and SC in terms of thoroughness) as real FEOs I'd think PCSOs introduce a significant security risk.
Unless, of course, the PCSOs are being properly vetted ... in which case surely using them is equally as expensive as real FEOs?

Well Durham are/were certainly using at least one PCSO as an FEO, he did two visits for my sons applications.
Nice guy, seemed to know what he was doing and asked all the right questions etc. He even rang to apologise when the b@st@rds knocked it back the first time and told me he was 110% happy with him and had said so to the FLM (the same FLM that was crucified in the Atherton report and who still has her job).

PCSO's are vetted to the same level as an FEO, CTC and enhanced CRB. MV will be for officers/staff in roles such as Intel, Tac Teams and AFOs. SC for Special Branch and above and DV for don't even ask, their job is so secret, they don't even know what they do!
PCSOs as FEOs? Could make perfect sense as long as neighbourhood policing doesn't go down the pipes because of cuts. PCSOs could perform checks and the like whilst going about their usual business in a neighbourhood. PCSOs, even though I have my own opinion, are not collectively what they were when Blunkett first dreamed them up. There are now a large proportion who are very professional and conscientious.
