I like the excitement of pulling the trigger, the recoil, the BOOM, the smell of gun oil, the engineering, the seemingly infinite combinations of stocks, barrel lengths, calibers, optics, mags, iron sights, grips, rails and bipods, the list goes on. I love the nerdy side of ballistics and making the perfect bullet, but most of all it's the temperament, camaraderie and friendliness of the people in the hobby that keeps me coming back. Plus there's so much to learn I don't think I will ever get bored of it.

There's just something very satisfying at pulling the trigger and seeing it hit the centre of the target 1000 yrds away. Started when plinking drinks cans in the field with an air rifle. Throwing paper into a distant waste paper basket....the list goes on. We are all descended from hunters throwing spears so no real surprise. But it wouldn't be half as much fun without the friendliness I've encountered at every range I've shot.
