Simplyammo sells 7.62 bullets if you want to load your own.
Not many left though.

Our trip to Bisley on Friday 7th.

Apparently it's going to be 300 mards in the morning and then the afternoon spent with The Clay People. We imagine they are some kind of lost tribe that inhabit the fringes of Stickledown or something. They might be a tad aggressive because we've been told to take our shotgun.

they are 7.62/.308" aren't they?, 7.62x54r are .311".I have thought about reloading with .303 (also .311") tracer bullets but they are quite expensive and if they are old stock is there much of a guarantee they will light?.Does anyone shoot .308 from a .311 bore?, would I be right in thinking that accuracy wouldn't be up to much?.

My local RFD sourced a few 91/38 carbines from Bulgaria recently. Bulgarian exporter is sitting on 12 million rounds of x54r. Bet there's a few cans of tracer mixed in with that lot. Apparently he's having trouble with obtaining an export licence.

Hmmm, we wonder what PC Plod would say if we asked to increase our holding of x54R by, say, a million... ?

Aye, tovarich....hence ANOTHER reason to go Finnish.
Quite a few of the Finn M-N rifles were made with .308 barrels...hence the very nice range of Lapua bullets available in
.308

That's a bit of a weird thing... ( I'm new to this )...
Shouldn't 7.62mm = 7.62mm???
Or is it something to do with the rifling depth?

Actually, thinking about it I did measure one of the Prvi's at 7.92mm.

So why didn't they call it 7.92x54R?
