are you particularly keen to have a match bullet added to the list of bullets that can't be posted and need an "expanding" condition on your certificate? there are plenty of expanding bullets on the market, designed for the purpose, why would anyone want to skirt around the law just to use a bullet that might expand but wasn't designed with that in mind?

I'd like to see the expanding nonsense put back to how it was.

It would be nice (and probably a first) if people would stop confusing a bullet who's terminal balistics are meant to do damage (expand/explode/penetrate/not over penetrate/avoid dangerous ricochets/tumble/stop momentarilly and sing anything by Amy bloody whitehouse) or just expand (by design), and them that are meant to just shoot well and ideally stay together. The damage the latter might do is pretty academic as being hit by a .30 cal round usually has an unpleasant outcome anyway.

Yes, there are certain bullets that are banned under the Haig convention (IIRC) for use against personell as they cause unecessary wounding (I was always told the idea was to wound as it caused more agro to the comrades giving first aid....I think we judged purely by our standards there).

The SMKs are not "Designed" to expand, so as far as I understand it are fine for use by snipers. The front loaded bullet is just usually a more consistent method.

IF a shooter wishes to use them on animals rather than following the accepted route of a bullet designed and approved to do the job I guess thats up to them, their concience, and their acceptance of any outcome should they be questioned.

It is a nonsense Tac I agree, and it causes a lot of people needless hassle etc, but its the law for now.

I had countless inert objects in my bullet collection for years. It was only when I got into civvy shooting I had any idea I was breaking the law.

Even my FEO did not agree but gave me a ticket with AP on it to justify....work that out?????

So I still have a load of inert rounds laying about that would only hurt if you sat on one, but they are legal inert rounds laying about that would only hurt if you sat on one

I've shot about fity of them (.308/155) so far. Very good and shoot to exactly the same POI as the SMK (2156) I previously used. The G7 BC is also the same at 0.237 according to Litz. This is confirmed by everything seeming spot-on with my ballistic app and Kestrel 4500AB.

I haven't done any fancy testing with them, but I managed a 2nd place with 50.6 in a club competition with them acouple of weekends ago - good enough for me.
