I spoke with Bob, he seemed nice enough and confirmed that I could get it pre xmas if I sorted my spec out but I won't have the momey til after xmas so will have to wait. Left handed seemed no issue. Downside is the spec Id like is near £2600! Oh well.
Is the left hander a true leftie with ejection to the left (and not across the face) or just with the lever and other controls swapped?
Full leftie, although when using a rightie I didnt notice any issues with the casing ejection.

Lever release

#32 Post by safetyfirst »

I've heard all sorts of horror stories about their telephone manner and customer service so with some trepidation I called them a few weeks back to ask about some of their lever release guns and chatted for 25 minutes to an extremely helpful and forthcoming chap, despite me opening the conversations with "I'm just considering a new rifle and I can't afford one right now".

I've also met some very happy LR owners so as with all internet opinions, your mileage may vary and opinions can sometimes be out of date!

Give them a call and see what you think is your best bet!

I agree and also I am sure people from SGC have seen the threads on here and other sites and maybe had a bit of a think on customer service ? without doubt the product is first class, I speak as I find and they were great with me, it was like bump starting a tractor but once off we chatted away :)

Bit of canned ethanol in the air intake? Didn't think that worked on gunsmiths.

Every day is a school day.

I have had mine on order now for 4 weeks, spoke to Bob yesterday, with a little luck should be getting it dirty on the range next weekend.

I was initially unsure due to all the comments, however after the call to enquire, all seemed good.

People are as people are, speaks as I find and so far cant say a bad word.

Looking forward to converting some money to brass. Have optic and spare mags in store also a supply of the seemingly hard to source ammo, now need the stick to make em all work together.

Pics to follow once I figure the attaching thingy.... shakeshout

Good to hear some positive stuff from SGC for a change. I've been *really* tempted by a lever for a while... might put in a variation for one later on in the year :)

Sorry, to take the thread off at a slight tangent, but I've fired one of these from the left shoulder and it was very unpleasant.
Bob did say that L/H controls would eventually become an option a good while ago, but the flash and gas would still have been an issue.

Are you saying that it's now available with L/H controls and L/H ejection? fingerscrossed

I can't say for sure if there is a definitive purpose made southpaw model, have a looksee at the website. The gun builder aspect may shed some light on the subject.
Failing that, drop them a line and ask the question. Maybe a Dr Pepper moment there but what's the worst that could happen? :-)
