I had to send my FAC to CCA who filled it in and then returned it to my home address. I then took my FAC to my RFD when i picked up the rifle but nothing else was filled in. On my transfer notice to the police i just said that CCA where the transfer-er but that it was collected from my RFD and gave his details too, just to cover all bases.

Never had to do it that way before but apparently thats the way they have to do it and a couple of other police forces insist you do it that way too?

I sent it my Special Delivery before 1pm so there was a level of security to it. Was gutted though as if it hadn't been delivered by 1pm i'd have got my money back, it was signed for at 12:56pm!

BlackStuff, A silly question (I have never used a UK straight pull), but does your Vz have a trigger release thingy or do you have to re-arm manually using the charging handle after each shot ??
Thanks

i'm ordering a spare wooden handguard at the end of the month, but only for the internal heat shield.
The Vz58 does heat-up quicker than a AK and the original composite hand-guard is actually quite efficient ...

I had thought of giving it to one of you tree huggers but instead i think i'll just burn it

 Excellent !
Of course I can not approve the destruction of the work of a fellow member of the oppressed proletarian class but that is the spirit :good:

When you pull the trigger the gun fires and the action/bolt opens and ejects the case, it then locks in the open position. To release it you simply pull the trigger a second time and the gun reloads itself tongueout

With a straight-pull you have to manually cock the gun for each shot/there's no gas system to work the action.

I had the same issue Neil. I kept looking in the Caledonian site and could only see "straight-pull" so was wondering what was the actual operating system.
Thanks for clarification Mark :good:
