It's the easy way out - just comply and it'll be all over soon and you can get back to lolling in front of the telly. The constant chipping away of our rights and due process has made us the most spied upon country in the Western world. And it still hasn't made us any safer - we have the most violent crime stats in Europe per capita. Indeed, statistically England suffers more violent crime than South Africa.
Well I'm sorry that I "disgust" you - not that it bothers me. I don't "comply"; its not "cowardice" - it's just the way I was brought up to do things right.

If you like I can send you my parents contact details so you can have go at them for bringing me up to be honest and responsible.

How dare they - I think I'll sue! kukkuk

It isn't the doing things right that disgust me. It's cravenly giving up due process to anyone with a clipboard or uniform.

Here's a slice of your brave new world.

Now we have slung some mud about....back to the practicalities of this move.

If FLO pitches up & I say 'No sod off am busy' what will he do? - Call Uniform to use a multitude of laws to just enter on the pretence?
If I have a box of ammo under the bed & say 'Hi sure, come in here is my storage cabs' - are they going to comb search the house or just look at my cabinets?
If a round has fallen into the boot spare wheel well are they going to dismantle the car to search for this just to be sure?

It seems they will knock say 'hi can we please check your firearms?' & have a look at the cabinets & is that then what i will show them? - the cabinets & storage & not the reloading station elsewhere, nor the ammo in a kit bag because i just got home.......

It seems you are only going to get into strife if you are stupid & leave obvious stuff in obvious places or even dafter rifle on FAC but not in cabinet - in airing cupboard drying out?, in shed overnight whist the bedding sets etc.......

Are they going to get hostile about N140 in the garage fridge (locked integral n all that)?

I have briefed the kids - if i am not in no one comes in asking about the kit, they call me & tell whoever to call me too.

In reality if you store your kit where you are supposed to store it - is this new set of guidelines any issue at all?

Quarters wrote:Like Karen I’m sorry that I disgust you. I did say further up the thread that I do see your point of view it’s just that it’s just different to mine.

I feel that saying that I disgust you is unnecessary, aggressive and confrontational when I clearly have shown none of those qualities towards you.

On the bright side when I first started posting on this thread I had a bet with my wide that some numpty would type “Police State” before the end of the day so I’m £5.00 up now!!!

Seriously? You made up a silly little back story just so you could make a sideways insult of calling me a numpty because I expressed myself honestly? That's weak.

Generally I think we heading towards a police state the homeoffice Are always looking for ways to disarm us through the back door ! That's my worry especially if they go from Intel to random checks by uniform plod when they have nothing to do

There's a difference between "doing things right" and being taken for a mug and a victim of abuse of powers and in effect being a victim of state bullying!. By all means co-operate but at the end of the day we do still have some rights. No one on here is (as yet) part of anyone's barcoded inventory so why should you act like you are and allow any tom, dick or harry to pry into your life personal life.

If people REALLY and truly believe they "have nothing to hide" then let's see the webcams in the bedrooms 24/7, no darkness, all curtains and blinds gone, no doors on the bog, your bank card info and pin codes etc on here - oh wait, so you DO have something to hide then!

No that is NOT different, it just illustrates how absurd "nothing to hide" is. Why should anyone have to PROVE they / you have nothing to hide because that phrase presumes GUILT!
