I prefer my rifles to be inanimate, you prefer yours to be packed with wriggly woodworm and the odd dead owl laminated in old whale oil....but hey that's the beauty of shooting we can all express ourselves through our choice of rifle.

Correct, but in Canada there are no semi automatic handguns held legally by private individuals and any S/A rifles are licensed.

.......
You sure?
Ummmm, no, but it was the case last time I spoke to my cousin about it out in BC (Prob 2005 when we had the conversation)
There was a move last year to do away with the Canadian firearms register because it had cost much and become to big to run. That and pressure from the gun groups. I believe it was to go before their parliament to be voted on but then I heard no more about it. Sorry to say that until this happens and they repeal the ban on certain handguns the Canadians have been pretty well nuetured.

Assault Rifle ban unlikely to succeed but high capacity mags, that's a different story.

Polls are meaningless unless you know who was polled and how the questions were phrased etc etc.....

A bit like Tommy Sheridan who reckoned ALL of Scotland wanted airguins banned based on a survey of 1000 people he probably knew.

I'd take that survey with a pinch of salt.

Banning hi-cap mags is just a meaningless and vindictive screwing of the law abiding, it will not save ONE life, may cost a few.
