Well taking on board some of the things Dougan wrote and in all fairness he makes some good points though I do have doubts about his seven figures thing, I was thinking why just have the one national shooting centre. Would it not be feasible to have one in the South and one in the North both tied into each other for competitions and such. The situation at the moment while fine for folks who live in the South is hard on the folks in the North of England and elsewhere.

Now I'm sure that someone is going to ask where the money for this is going to come from, well the NRA is registered as a charity so get the begging bowl out and start soliciting for charitable donations.

And did the NRA put it there?
Dunno but there was one tunnel range the NRA helped with three or four years ago - can't remember the name as I wasn't involved but I remember Glynn Alger discussing it.

And there was a plan for exactly that with funding promised from various sources. A new range complex was going to be built in Scotland on two occasions that I can remember - both times failed but neither failure was due to the NRA as far as I know.

The NRA would LOVE a massive range complex in Scotland whether or not it was theirs - contrary to public opinion they do actually want more people to go shooting!

Doesn't sound like they did but Alpha1 did ask about a non NRA Range range accessible to the NE England. Stop being argumentative :-)

A shooting complex is still on the cards in Scotland at this stage Karen, maybe the NRA should get involved and don't anybody mention the I word.

PS Whilst I don't work there anymore I am still on General Council so what do you want the NRA to do to help and I can pass info onto the right person?

'Bisley at Braidwood? There is recognition at last from the NRA that they need to reach out to the regions. Give them a chance'

Not being arguementative Mike but the bit just above was your first quote, seems to me your gave the NRA credit for something they didn't do,thats all.

The two sentences aren't connected. Bisley at Braidwood merely brings this facility into the discussion re a non MOD range close to the NE of England which Alpha 1 specifically mentioned. The comment re reaching out to the regions was in relation to Andrew Mercer's speech at the AGM in which he publicly acknowledged that the NRA does need to reach out into the regions.
