Re: Show us your rimfire's
I picked a carbine version of the Bremmer up at the game fair for £200. Very pleased with it and loving the old school vibe. I bought the two last 25 round Black Dog mags that Suffolk Rifle had too and they seem to work ok. Kind of tempted to chop the barrel down to 12 inches and turn it into a pseudo XM177E2 clone...

The item in question:

and what it could become...

Naturally I would need some Colt 20 round mags with the .22 insert and a 'straight' M16A1 style pistol grip. Can't really change the elevation adjustable rear sight or the brass deflector but you can't have everything.

Re: Show us your rimfire's
20 rnd, not 30? I've always preferred the 30 rnd look although the M261 insert that fits in both only has a 10 rnd capacity. Both the Commando version (Carbine) and the Rifle use the same castings and materials of a proper .223, no plastic receivers here. With a .223 buffer tube and plunger retainer mod, the lower can be used on a .223 upper.Swifty Boy wrote:The item in question:

The A2 version of the M16 always had the brass deflector and rear site elevation system. Only earlier versions, A1 and original design didn't.
The Inserts are available in the US as are certain other spares for the M261 bolt system. If you have access to someone who perhaps lives in the States or you visit, try:

I do have some 25 rnd Blackdog Mags, bought them in the States for $15 a piece a couple of years ago when the manufacturer was having a sale.
My Bremmer has been one of my most used rifles over the last 15 years, put 10s of 1000s of rnds through it and it's only needed one new firing pin in that time.

Re: Show us your rimfire's
Thanks for the information on the magazine inserts, I will try to track a couple down. I think it's a keeper and in the future I might consider a .223 upper but will put a few rounds through it first!

How about these blackdog mags http://www.midwayuk.com/epages/Midway_U ... 14141D39DESwifty Boy wrote:Thanks for the information on the magazine inserts, I will try to track a couple down. I know they are only 10rd but I believe with the help of a dremel easily converted to 15rds and give that classic look.
Personally I prefer my Spikes M4 with the straight mags, but I would love an XM177E2 its a great look.
