Um No. It is only when you put rounds in the cylinder that it is loaded. Pull the trigger DA or single action and the recoil will move the barrel and cylinder group back and cock the pistol. Each further shot is fired single action with the barrel and trigger group moving to re-cock. I did own two prior to 1996, one in .455 and the other in .38 spl(very rare less than fifty made). I sold them pre ban as a deposit on a house. The person I sold them to shoots them regularly.

Our GPMG wasn't self loading either then. We had to lift up the feed cover and drop a belt across it...

MY mtes had to be sent back as it was cronically not going into battery On the plus side Icon paid for all of it and sorted picking it up very quickly. Hopefully when it comes back it'll be properly fettled

Chamber issues or return spring issues, I'm sure they'll fettle it soon.

I'd like to think that for over thirteen hundred quid, the things were fettled before they went out the door!

My thoughts exactly.
Surely it should be run and tested before sale?

For that money I'd expect an "A" class shooter to come with the gun to shoot it for me.

In the end my mate didn't actually send his Sig off to Icon as they mentioned to him about the 'bedding in' process that others had gone through and got theirs working fine.
Hear the click? Yep (@0:07) and that was the most successful magazine of the TEN that we, sorry, he fired off. Most of the 10rd mags had at least 2 failures to go to battery. I, sorry, he, had a magazine where not once did it go into battery properly first time! The 100rds put through it yesterday brought the total up to 1000 and its still cronically FTB so it is going back this week. Presumably both the frame and slide rails are going to need to be polished and/or the recoil spring strengthen/replaced.
THAT said, it is the nicest LBP (or LBR) for that matter that i've handled (Out of GSG 1911, K22 standard trim, Taurus mod 66 and Alpha 'joker gun'). The weight distribution is almost perfect with the gun balancing on your middle finger and the gun is very light. It must be built from aluminium as i seem to remember the P226 i shot back in the day being quite weighty, but then again that is a memory of almost 20 years ago!
I also got to remember the 'fun' of double action - single action trigger transitions (they are SA/DA guns, not DAO as someone previously stated). Doing it the right way around DA to SA wasn't too bad but when it failed to go into battery and you go from SA to DA it was horrible and the gun pulled well off target! However having the option of the DA was excellent and something i've genuinely missed having only fired SA rifles/shotguns for so long.
The gun is also the best looking (IMO) LBP out there, although from a pure gun tart point of view i'd prefer something that looked like a fake sound moderator, rather than the carbon fibre tube that my mates had. Changing that might harm the weight balance though.
My only other criticism would be the standard slide release/lock was a bit small and made locking the slide back manually quite tricky. I'm sure that could be easily rectified with an after market enlarged button, or even just a 'tactical' blob of Sugru.
Its a real shame the guns aren't working properly out of the box (especially for the price!), but when something like this comes out the person who does it is in a bit of a difficult position. On one hand they have to generate enough interest in the gun from a tiny market to make it viable (and i think this gun was first touted about a year ago), but then because of the long 'PR' phase the demand for the gun to actually be released will start to build and build, to the point that it may be released before all of the gremlins are worked out.
Hopefully the next batch will be fettled before they are released, and once they are i can see these guns becoming a hit on the LBP scene.

Nice summing up, Mark. Ultimately, put lip stick on a pig and it's still a pig wearing lip stick....
The frames are aluminium alloy, as per the CF 226. Likewise, the slides of the conversion kit are also. Is the problem with the magazines possibly down to what's "been done to them" in order to get the last round hold open to operate? The standard 226 LR doesn't have this facility, which makes you wonder why Sig never included it....?
Oh, the video is "private"...

Changed the privacy settings so the video should be viewable now?
The BHO is literally just a grub screw/pin on the side of the mag follower that nudges the BHO lever so i don't think its related.
I always had a fondness for the utilitarian appearance of the Sig 220 series, so i'd more describe it as a hot bird with a gammy leg that you don't notice til she walks
