In my P14 I use 43g of TR140 behind a 174 SMK. This load is safe in my P14 but I would not use that high a load in a No4 or SMLE. I've tried N140 but for long range in .303 could not get consistant results. N150 may work better than N140 for long range with 174 gr bullets. Brass is HXP that has been reloaded several times and only neck sized. Use my load data with caution and use normal procedures for working up loads.

Personally, I doubt we'll ever see pictures of any of his rifles, which strikes me as strange as he claims to have the following rifles:

http://www.full-bore.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=7386
Norwegian 6.5 x 55 Krag Jorgensen
Swedish 6.5x55 Carl Gustaf M1896 Long Rifle
Swiss 7.5 x 55 K31
Russian Mosin Nagant 7.62 x 54R M1891
Australian AIA Enfield 7.62 x 39
'merrykan Winchester P14 rebarreled in 7.62 x51 NATO
Yugoslav M48 Mauser in 7.92 x 57
All rifles I'd be proud to own and have others appreciate. Who knows, we might be lucky this time around? fingerscrossed

Edit: Well, maybe not the AIA!

On the AIA I've had the pleasure and privilege of shooting Alpha1s and it is a fine shooting rifle. The 7.62 x 39 is a fine cast boolit cartridge so I was going to get an AIA, however the few (three) others that I've shot wouldn't group for sh!te,it seems a bit of a pig in a poke. I'll be happy to buy a second hand one that has a track record of shooting well. So I have first dibs on Alpha1's 7.62x39 AIA along with his MAS36, after some of the black and bling sh!te I've seen on here the MAS36 is starting to look almost presentable uncovered and may be shootable with only welding goggles on rather than a full head blindfold.

Pig in poke is a good description of the AIA. :good: Good idea, poorly executed is another.
I like rifles that need work to get the best from them but the 7.62x39 AIA I'm just not sure about.

I might end up picking one up and end up proving myself wrong - not for the first time either!

Edit: I quite like the look of MAS 36!

Adam I am shocked kind words about my mas36. Well all most must be your age old fruit.
I am using the AIA at short distances with cast boolits using the Lee mould with good results I dont normally shoot past 100yds with it but it shoots really well. I have also had good results with some of Dodgyrog boolits.
The 7.62x39 round is a cheap and easy round to load for. Its great fun and it did not cost a lot of money. I guess I got a good one.
(I have just sourced a 5 round AK mag for it)
I dont intend to ever part with the mas36 sorry old fruit. It shoots were ever you point it. I enjoy re loading for it as much as I enjoy shooting it. Its a cracking piece of kit.
I still get that feeling of excitment when I pull her into to my shoulder and put my finger on her trigger. Its a love affair.
(That sounds rude dosnt it) :shakeshout: :shakeshout: :shakeshout: :shakeshout: :shakeshout: :shakeshout: :shakeshout: zzzzom

If you get an AIA that won't shoot then any amount of work won't make it do so.

Regarding your view of the MAS 36 all I can say is "pervert"! kukkuk

A question for you Grant, is hijacking this thread like "sett aside"?
