The Mauser HSC is one of the best looking pistols ever made IMO. Colt 1903 snags the top spot for me though:

Thanks for showing these great pictures, yes, it makes some of us ex pistol shooters a bit sad, but personally it is a good reminder of what may happen to what we still own if we become complacent.

Here's what I used to own before the Pistol ban (Stock Photos). If nothing else US Shooters have to avoid at all cost, gun registration, because no matter what the Politicians promise, they will eventually confiscate them.

A nice collection you had. It must've been very sad to have to let them go. This is certainly a cautionary tale for us in the U.S.

Froggy;

I agree, a WW2 P38 would much nicer. The recoil in the P1 with the aluminum frame is pretty snappy. I find the P38 easier to shoot. Since they both eject to the left and being left handed, I like that feature!

Find yourself visiting the Grand Canyon State drop me a PM and you can do some real pistol shooting, no rules against visitors doing some pistol shooting if they wish.

Please stop mean Yanks from posting pictures of firearms we cannot legally possess, this is causing undue stress, depression when the realisation that we will NEVER own these items, and that we're stuck on this rock hits us, oh, and fits of violent bursts of jealously.

:grin:

I like the Tok and the SSA, though :good: Actually, I wouldn't say "no" to any of them

Visiting these great forums, spreading pistol porn around is something I decided not to do when I realized the commitment that everyone in the UK must make to pursue the sport of shooting and the passion of collecting historical firearms. That said, there are some choice handguns posted.

I think it is quite acceptable to post pictures of pistols as many of us are ex pistol shooters and keen to see real life 'owned' examples as opposed to the normal google images, to read about how they shoot is even better so please do post such things, and meanwhile we can post images of old and obscure service stuff. Just wait until we get a couple of pictures of the Danish Krag posted when it comes home :good:

Believe me, there's no intent on my part to rub anyone's nose in what I have compared to what other's can't. I hope it isn't seen that way. Another forum that I used to be on until I lost track of it had a guy from Sweden who posted pics of his full auto weapons. I loved seeing them and reading about them but If I'm being an instensitive Yank let me know and I will knock it off. Everyone on this forum is nice and I don't want to be seen as a jerk.
