Not all the while Savage produce the Edge/Axis....

Had to look them up, they don't look too bad.
Now the Steyr AUG is one ugly rifle!.

The Savage Edge/Axis look just like most other rifles, albeit not my choice.

Not sure that I agree with your comment on the Steyr Aug, however, looks are purely subjective.

Agreed, why not just have a straight-pull?
This design would have the advantage of being ambi-dextrous -- so as a left-hander, I'd be tempted by one of these -- esp. if they were available in .45ACP...and I have a slot open for a .45 lever-action rifle, so here's hoping these go into production.

As a fellow left hander, it seems all my hobbies get slightly hobbled for being left-handed so more options are good.

I did see a straight pull 9mm, again using glock mags, on one of the other stalls there...looked pretty good...

That might be Calibre Innovations, they're making one and I think were planning to be there. I tried a prototype and it seemed ok, and I believe they've sold some now.

I thought that charging handles on many straight-pulls can be either left or right hand operated?

Yes and no.... most make the 223 with an ambi option (hell Hera arms even makes a replacement handle to replace t-charger that gives you left hand cocking), Calibre makes a dedicated left side charger, those are all 223 or 300 blk (once more calibre appears to offer more, 7.62x39, 458 socom and 50 beowulf in both sides possibly?). So yeah this fills that niche for lefties and pistol cals.

Good to see more innovations to comply with our ever dafter laws. I heard a rumour they'd be going for around £1900 though and i think that would put a fair few people off, especially considering the lever-release guns were £1200 when they first came out and offered more.
