I have some data from the factory. Once you can access the pm features send me your eMail address and I'll forward it.Harrytucker wrote:That’s much appreciated.
PM = private messenger, when you have 15 meaningful posts admin will give you full access to all the forums features, including sales, the library and PMsHarrytucker wrote:Brilliant!
What is the PM feature?
Thanks again

Also out of interest what press do you use? I am hearing great things about the forester Co Ax press.
The CoAx has a very good reputation, especially for achieving low runout (probably the best runout from a single-stage press, without going to an arbor press and hand dies). It is also expensive and uses an unconventional system for mounting dies.Harrytucker wrote:I am hearing great things about the forester Co Ax press.
I am unconventional in this respect (perhaps in many respects).Harrytucker wrote:Also out of interest what press do you use?
Chasing runout can be something of a leap into the wormhole. I remember thinking that a concentricity gauge was essential, and ordering a 21 Century gauge. That was about the time runout ceased to be a problem for me, and the gauge is rarely used now. What gauge are you using? I have the feeling from trying a few that they some are more sensitive than others (depending on how the round/case is supported etc), so it isn't always meaningful to compare absolute runout measurements between different gauges.Harrytucker wrote:Thanks for the reply. I am getting a lot of run out at the moment however I think I have just found the cause. I have been using the K & M expander mandrel as I took the one out of my redding expander die and I noticed it’s giving me horrible run out.
I have just ordered the Sinclair expander die so hopefully this should sort the issue.
Pretty much just .308, as it's dictated by most of my competition rules.Harrytucker wrote:Thanks,
I have the Sinclair gauge.
Like you said, chasing run out can be like going down the ‘rabbit hole’ however I seem to be getting problems with my expander mandrel. Maybe changing this will help.
What calibers do you shoot mainly?
