Similar to Safetyfirst i went for a 3d printed option though mine is held onto the door with a magnet so it doesn't take up a rifle rack slot.
I uses an L shape slot for a bit of extra security and added some bubble wrap from a package to avoid any scratching (or annoying clanging noises).
the magnets hold it to the door-the string makes sure it doesn't slide down at all (though I'm sure I could do away with this had I used stronger magnets)
not the prettiest buts it's done the job.

Hi,
This is how mine looks, a couple of strong magnets and some thin stick on foam padding.
Works a treat.

I made one from a cheap airsoft 1911 holster and some magnets.

Hi Geek,
Like Strangesam says it's the Chaippa little badger.
It's great fun, folds in half, very lightweight, can't get anything simpler.
