I've got the kit to do it, but wonder what is envolved....don't think it's just a screw out and screw in.

Nope but I have watched barrels being changed. I could do it myself however I suspect it will be easier to get the barrel chambered, fitted to the receiver and proofed and I will do the rest.

if you have a barrel vice and action spanner plus a torque wrench and gauges then it is simple enough but I am not sure it is worth the hassle on a new build.

I think thats one area you need to get spot on, I think with time and tools its do-able but you'd need to do a fair bit of research first to get it just right.
