I wouldn't pay for a medical at all, if the police want further medical details on you then they should foot the bill regardless of what those traitors at BASC say. They certainly don't represent this gun owners interests by their trade union type deals with "management".

You give plod permission to access your medical records on your FAC application form they want more detail then they should pay for it, this is fee increases by the back door and needs to be resisted.

Sent from my boing using "An application"
Neither. Submit the application and take it from there. Chances are that because of BASC's insistence that the Police pay for a response to the initial letter and BMA advising GP's not to do the work without payment the Police will pay or process the application as normal.

BASC only advises payment if your GP raises any concerns and the Police requests further information, but as the BMA is advising refusal of the initial work I don't honestly see how this could realistically occur.

Caveat - This is just my interpretation of the process.
