I know cast boolits are very versatile but don't see how that would work?
Low trajectory is a function of increased velocity not less velocity.

Oh the rules of physics will change in a post Brexit world... Stephen Hawking and Quisling Cameron are in league on that one.

Just a thought but can you get taller front sight blades/posts?, my '39 Mosin shot high at 100m so I fitted a taller front sight post which sorted it.
As its all original I don't want to even touch it with a screwdriver never mind a drift! I have had a look around there are plenty for enfields and some for k98 but not seen any original.
Dromia, slower and flatter works after being left in the pub a little longer than expected when trying to take in too much information at once! Slower and lower may be better.

The two key things for good shooting of cast is good bullet fit say 2 thou over groove diameter if you can seat out to the lands, if not then you will need a bullet diameter than will fit the freebore. Secondly the alloy must not be hard for up to 2000 fps I use range scrap softened with plumbers lead for a BHN of 10-12, for over 2000 fps I want tougher, but not hard, alloy. I use 0.3-0.5% copper added to my alloy for a BHN of around 16-18.
For your guns 2thou onto the groove diameters is the minimum size you want assuming that you can reach the lands, if not you will need to take a throat slug and get bullets to fit that.
Is this a case of chicken and egg? When choosing a bullet mould how can I work out if I can seat the bullet onto the lands without actually having the bullet?

No, you take an impact cast of the freebore/lead and compare those measurements to the bullet drawing.
