Re: .222 case prep problems
They look good, what steel did you use?
Re: .222 case prep problems
I used mild steel I bought in I can not remember off the top of my head what it is.
I have built up a stock from a local supplier who caters for the model engineering fraternity.
I will probably do the next set in 316 stainless. A dedicated .303 set is next up. I can currently re load any of my calibres using these type of neck dies. I can also seat any of the cast bullets I use with a Arbor press sitting in front of my computer while reading the forum.
hmm whats next.
Oh yeah I nearly forgot I asked one of the toolmakers at work to show me how to make a bushing. I am well impressed by the out come all though its no were near the size I want. I did him a deal I have supplied him with parts for a job out of my store and in return I'm booked in to morrow after noon for a session in the machine shop

Re: .222 case prep problems
My session in the machine shop was fun. I made a start on the .303 dies it did not go well. I made a seater but I got the measurements wrong. I did not allow for the seating stem length. Ill put it on the shelf some were along the way it will come in for some thing else I'm sure.
Re: .222 case prep problems
It was playing on my mind so I went back to it I remade the seater stem. I drilled this one deeper chamfered the edge and paid attention to the dimensions. It acts like a dead centre seater now and it works a treat.
.
hmm whats next.

Re: .222 case prep problems
I get my materials from these guys in Darlington they cater for the hobbyist. They are great people to deal with.
