"What an excellent way to dissuade people that may need help or feel they might have something wrong with them from approaching their doctor.'
For years I've believed that only a fool would go to their GP to discuss possible mental issues because it won't be long before the government are flogging their "anonomized" (yeah, right) records off to insurance companies, employers, and the like to capitalize on their assets, I mean "citizens". Now that the police will have access if you're a firearm owner it makes it even more unlikely people will seek help - they'll just soldier on unsupported.
the way things are going, we might not even be allowed to own single shot bolt action 7.62mm riflesdromia wrote:They run Bisley shooting ground.joe wrote:dromia wrote:I see our shooting organisations are party to this, they have been manning up and bending over to receive another shafting on our behalf.
Be afraid, be very afraid about loosing our firearms as we have no one fighting on our behalf.

Are you being treated for any medical condition, including any alcohol or drug related condition, whether controlled by prescription medicines or not.
Have you attended a medical professional in the last 5 years for treatment of depression or any other kind of mental or nervous disorder?
I give my consent for the police to approach my GP, consultant or other medical authority to obtain factual details of my medical history if necessary.
Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary said it was easier to own a gun than become a bus driver because of flaws in medical checks.
